- New E-Mail Server
The old mail.dayton.net server is not able to deal with the current email requirements due to the method of storing email messages and old security software.
We have moved the @dayton.net and @coax.net email to our modern server that is running the datanetix.com services.
To make the move all we did was aim the pointer for mail.dayton.net-coax.net to datanetix.com.
To get to the new server use your browser to go to dayton.net/webmail or coax.net/webmail. You will get a prompt to enter your username and password.
The new server will require using firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com instead of just the username. The old password will be retained.
After logging in and authenticating with the new username a window will come up showing your login username in the upper right corner followed with a v and the word logout. Click on the v and the configuration options will drop down.
Click on "Configure Mail Client" and a window will pop up giving you all the information that you will need to setup your local email software to work with the new server. You must use the secure connections.
At the bottom of that page is a button to "go back" to the login page.
In the center of the first login popup there is a place to select the software to use to see your email. We suggest using squirrel mail.
